History and Story of Happy Dussehra Festival
Dusshera is also known as Durga Puja. This festival is celebrated throughout India at the end of the rainy season. This festival is last for 10 days. The festival ends on Dashami. This day is called Vijaya Dashami. The effigy of Ravana, symbolizing goodness on evil, is burnt on this day throughout the country. On this day, Lord Rama slaughtered killed Ravan and rescued mother Sita from his imprisonment. Before killing Ravana, Ram worshiped Durga. Mata Durga was pleased with his worship and gave him a boon of victory.
